qGui is a Windows Frontend for QEmu CPU Emulator.
It has been developed under VB, so you will need the
VB Runtime Libraries (search for vbrun60sp6.exe in Google).
The first thing you must do when starting the program to
make it usable is to set the folders shown in Global Settings.
- Virtual Machine Path refers to the folder where you want to
store your virtual machine configuration files (*.qvm).
Once you have set this folder, the available machines must appear
on the Virtual Machine list, on the left.
- QEmu Path must point to the folder where you have your
QEmu executable files (qemu*.exe).
Once you have set this folder, available QEmu versions will
show on the QEmu Version dropdown list, on the bottom.
- Bios Path is the folder where QEmu must search for the
different bios of machines (*.bin).
- Disk Images Path refers to the folder where you have your disk
images. Once you have set this folder, every time you browse for
a disk image, you will directly have access to this folder.
The buttons under the Virtual Machine list perform this actions:
- New: It will reset all qGui fields, except the ones in Global Settings.
- Load: It will load the settings for the selected Virtual Machine.
- Save: Save the settings of current Virtual Machine (file extension
not needed)
You must know the meaning of the rest of settings. If not, please
read QEmu User Manual.
Some tips:
---------------
There was a time when qemu-img.exe did not create valid qcow files, so I
added an option to create valid qcow files for Windows QEmu.
The max file size for created images is now 99999 Mb (97,5 Gb) ;-D.
This images are stored in the Disk Folder specified in Global Settings.
At the moment, QEmu will only work fullscreen setting the following
environment variable: set SDL_VIDEODRIVER=windib
It's even possible QEmu would run faster.
There is one setting that can be very useful. In Network Configuration.
You can forward a port range. If you don't know how to use it,
you will get small tips on control tooltips.
Last introduced in qGui (since February 2005) is string translations.
If you write a translation, you can post it in the following board,
so I can include in the qGui zip package:

I hope it's useful for you.
Good luck!!
