Are you sure that you are having the key.txt-File in your Multidec directory?

@eXodus: He doesn't need the key-file for videocrypt, so that's not the problem.

@BazZ-X: Multidec doesn't work with Windows 2000 on my PC either (although it worked fine with Win98). The encoded picture is very slow (!) and when I try to decode anything my screen also turns black. However, Windows doesn't crash. I don't know the reason for this, but I assume that it has something to do with the drivers.
Suggestion: Use XCrypt for videocrypt and moreTV 3.42 for nagra.

Hi everyone, and espresso

a couple of months ago (before i bought a scsi card and a cd-rewriter) multidec seemed to work in win 98, but now it totally crashes my pc when i open the program.

recently i installed win2k and the program seems to work but i just see nothing else but black .. when you set decode to off, it shows the encoded picture, but whenever you press F7 or so, the picture turns to black.
(the same with nagra)
yes i tried to change settings from dib, surface, overlay, it all does not work...

i would be very happy if you could tell me what to do..

my pc configuration: AMD K6/2 400 128meg pc100 RAM, enough harddisk space, miro PCTV (not rave), sb16, 512k cache, riva 128 card, asus P5A mainboard

i hope i didnt forget anything.

For Win2000 you have first to make shure that no other device is using th interrupt of your tv-card.

Second you have to stop all device-drivers for your tv-card

Hi Espresso,

unfortunately this doesn't help in my case (I have a PCTV Rave). Multidec is very slow and I can't even watch free programs with it. Auf gut deutsch: Alles was ich kriege ist eine "Einzelbildfortschaltung"! There is no problem with moreTV, however, it works as well with Win2000 as it did with Win98.

xcrypt doesn't work because he says not to be able to find a bt848, 878... the same with all programs based on older versions of moretv. moretv3.42 works great for nagra, thx!!

i'll give it (multidec) a try by disabling the drivers of the card.

(my friend has a miro pctv rave, i noticed that that card has a philips tuner and a 878 chip instead of temic/848...)

As a matter of fact, XCrypt gave me the same error message at the beginning. Some say that you have to delete a certain registry entry (I think it is hwiont) if this problem occurs, but this didn't work in my case. However, I did the following in my desperation: I copied all driver files (especially Hwiodrv.dll which is slightly bigger in XCrypt than in moreTV3.42 and therefore apparently different) from the moreTV3.42 folder to the XCrypt folder. After that XCrypt worked fine, but I couldn't start moreTV anymore unless I restarted my computer (and vice versa). Then I tried it the other way around and copied the original XCrypt driver files to the moreTV-Folder. Since then, everything works fine and I can start all the programs whenever I want to without getting error messages. Sounds strange, doesn't it?

espresso: i tried multidec with disabling the device drivers ( i just uninstalled them, i prefer to watch normal tv with moretv342, because the original software of miro pctv sucks! it doesn't even have support for teletext while running NT (Win2K) ) so i tried to run multidec 5.2 and it crashed, i got a message that win2K was making a bug report or so (you know when a program crashes) and then it really crashed! i tried multidec 5.1 and again the same thing... i have driver version 2.13 of miro PCTV, pinnaclesys is not giving support anymore i think because i can't even download the drivers i downloaded a few months ago... so if someone knows where i can get newer (if they exist) drivers for PCTV, please leave a message on this board or mail me ( [email protected] )

btw multidec rulez, and i know that because when the other programs couldn't decode videocrypt, it decoded as good as XCrypt does it now (if i remember wel )

now multidec works great!!! i did something wrong yesterday so the drivers were still in use or so (i don't even remember what i did..) but now i have removed all drivers and original software from miro pctv, and it works great, but i think it is slower (could that be because of win2k?) i remember getting 25 fps with nagra decoding, but in w2k i only get 23, but that's ok with me!

great work espresso, i didn't remark any change since 4.4 (except for the few changes in digital etc.) but videocrypt decoding is not as it should be..

i have one question: will the time come that videocrypt can be decoded just like nagra (not just softcrypt) or is it impossible? i read a few documents about VC and it seems to be very hard to decode it ... and if there is a program to decode, will my amd k6/2 400 do the job?? (i don't think so..)
